Star Trek: Inside the USS Zheng He
A 3D animation of the USS Zheng He, Enjoy!
The USS Zheng Hey served as a Federation starship of the Inquiry class and was under the command of Starfleet during the late 24th and early 25th centuries.
It is likely that the vessel was christened in honor of Zheng Hey, the notable 15th-century Chinese admiral and court eunuch. The bridge set used on the ship was a modified version of the USS Discovery bridge set.
In the year 2399, Acting Captain William T. Riker took command of the Zheng He as part of a fleet assigned to protect Coppelius.
The vessel was later part of a Starfleet armada assembled to confront a massive Singularity that emerged from a spatial anomaly.
During this mission, the shi...

One flaw i see in this ship is in the location of the quarters, as optimally they should be on the outside. This is not only so they can have windows, but because quarters should be unnocupied during an emergency situation, and they're one part of the ship that you can lose without any immediate or direct effects on ship operations. Putting them outside is like having an extra layer of ablative armor.

This is a great video as far as excelsior class appreciation but idk about some of the info. There’s the weird statement about the E-B being lost on its maiden voyage as well as the claim that all excelsior classes had the engineering hull bulge. If you’re looking for 100% accurate, canon info, i maybe wouldn’t source this video. Also, just how many decks does the excelsior class have? I always thought it was 28 but this isn’t the first source I’ve heard state that it’s actually 32. Which is it?!

Numbers. The empire had 25000+ SD. The Federation could barely muster 600 ships. All the tech don't mean squat when they can obliterate multiple planets at the same time through out your space with massive fleets, superior ground troops and massive mobile battle stations.

This ship seems more of a replacement for the Oberth Class canoe....err ship. And a far better replacement it is. And although it seems suited for scientific missions, it's fairly straightforward layout seems to hint at a rather capable, and powerful gunboat. Also, it seems to have the potential to replace the Miranda Class as well. A very long and distinguished career as the Federation's "Jeep" or SUV of starships. A workhorse more for work, less for show. Although to its credit, the Nova Class has a pleasing aesthetic. But with considerable advances in Federation Weaponry, it would stand to show that the Nova could very well act as a heavy bruiser alongside the legendary Defiant Class. And with work, the Nova could become its own "Attack" starship complimenting the Defiant's "Fighter Assault" capability. Even a new, cloaked, faster, and more heavily armed Nova. How about the "Sparta" Attack Class Nova? And the first strike team ships would be: USS Rocky Balboa Defiant lead: USS Ivan Drago USS Apollo Creed 2nd Strike Team: USS Muhammed Ali Defiant 2nd Wing: USS Mike Tyson USS Evander Holyfield

Thank you so much for making these videos! The bowling alley was a SHOCK! LOL What a hilarious notion that every time you see the ship getting shaken, those balls and pins would be rolling everywhere! I'm looking forward to exploring your other videos and watching the Enterprise D videos, which is my favorite Enterprise! I'd like to suggest an idea for a future video (or a series of future videos) - How about you make another version of these 2 videos combined into one, but a short version? It would be something quick, more fast-paced, and more entertaining to non-Trek fans - far less technical and more just like a quick tour of the ship. Here are my thoughts of how this kind of video could look: (this is just an idea): • Video would be about 3-5 minutes total, something that could be enjoyed by non-Trek fans just as a quick bit of entertainment. • Call it something like "What's inside the original Enterprise?" • For the thumbnail, show one of the decks, or something cut away, something that looks technical. You could also overlay the face of Kirk and Spock at the side to make it more clear which Trek series this is. • For the intro, begin with short clips of episodes showing the bridge, then the transporter room. Say something like "The USS Enterprise is an iconic starship. We've all seen the bridge, the transporter room, and sickbay. But the Enterprise was meant to be a huge ship with 24 decks - so what's inside it? For the first time, this video shows a full 3D breakdown of every deck. This is mostly based on the original technical diagrams approved by Gene Roddenberry, with details from other sources to fill in the gaps.". • During the intro, use a fun and lively piece of music, then when you begin showing the ship, change music to something a little more serious with a steady pace and rhythm. • Instead of showing each deck alone in isolation, always show the rest of the ship below, and have the decks disappear one at a time from top to bottom, so you can always see the rest of the ship below the current deck. • Always have a display in the corner saying "Deck x" so we can always see the current deck • Have a sound effect when a deck disappears, or when anything happens • Don't have a still camera, but have the camera always moving and circling slightly, or have the camera slowly flying over the deck from forward to aft, or back. • Be very creative with camera movement and angles, sometimes dip below to show the ship underneath. Sometimes start far off and circle round while getting closer, stuff like that. • Each deck should only last about 8 seconds. Don't go into detail about what's on each deck. Nothing technical. Just read a brief list of what's on the deck, maybe with bullet points in the corner of the screen. Maybe highlighting each part while you say it. • When fun things appear like the park or the bowling alley, acknowledge how shocking and amusing this is. Smile and say something like "Yes - a bowling alley!" • Every few decks, fade the top of the ship back in slowly, then back out again, to remind us of the overall shape of the ship. Maybe say "x decks down, x more to go" • Never cut away to clips from episodes. Instead, you can have stills taken from the episodes which show the set, and briefly overlay these images small in the corner of the screen, either fade them in, or animate them moving in from the side. • At the end, after the last deck, say something like "So that's what's inside the original Enterprise!" and while you say this, quickly build the ship back up again, back up to the top. • Also, I didn't see any windows in these videos. Maybe you can add windows. Lee

This is incredible! Amazing model work! I never knew how much I needed to know this information! I have 6 observations from watching this video: 1. I never realized before how there are almost no windows on the top of the saucer section! It seems like terrible design to put all those officers' quarters in the middle when they could have been around the edge with windows! 2. I'm surprised how lacking all the decks are of structural components to keep the ship stable. It seems like the only major structural components are the turbolifts. 3. I'm quite surprised just how large this ship looks when you look at it this way. It makes the Enterprise D seem RIDICULOUSLY big. Really, the Enterprise D should have been only about 70% of the size it is. 4. What are all the blank areas? 5. I love the chick in her underwear on deck 4! :D 6. The park on Deck 8 was such a shock! May I also give feedback on how you made the video. I think it's a shame the music ended half way through the video. It's also a shame the 3D visuals are mostly static. It would have been better to keep the camera slowly moving IMHO as it helps to understand the layout better.

For something this big, it doesn't that much of a footprint in a hangar bar. Although, it doesn't carry nearly enough ordances. It seems the y-wing carries just as many proton torpedo's. For it being a "bomber" I would have expected it to carry loads akin to an A-10. The could have used the large wing blade to have more ordinance in it.

What's up friend, I have a question for you, I'm making a Star Trek starship simulator, and a realistic adventure game, for now just as an enthusiast, my idea is also to be able to do it for free, and open source, and failing that, if it's left nice, figure out the issue of the commercial license, but for the moment, I am making the ship simulator, mixed with rpg, systems, etc., I have created thousands of unique characters, of many races, names, compiling even fanfiction stories, etc., my idea is to make a multiplayer game (at some point, but following both real and invented stories) recreating that universe, but taking into account all the crew members and tasks of each one, and well creating intermediate stories, and new too, the idea would be to interact on the ship, without all the characters being the same, thanks to the blessings of the AI. Because of that, I have thousands of Star Trek things, to make that universe as rich as possible, which to my taste, is very concise in all the games I saw, none of them convinced me, none of them are realistic, etc., in my simulator I can fly a part of the ship, and affects its functions etc. One of the most difficult things now is to see how to make the map of the ship, realistic, and seeing that I got here :D, so realistic that you can get into a duct, or corridor, or turbolift, in an appropriate way, and that the views are real, which is very difficult, my ideal would be to do it in 3D! but I don't know what I can use and program for it, what I did think was that I could map in some way, the hallways, etc. (after each place it is easy to make a room, let's say) but the idea is to make it realistic, having to walk the hallways, even in a photographic mode like the old RPG games, at scale, it becomes titanic, because everything is a lot of work, one of my ideas was to make pathfinder on the ship maps, but with a small scale pff , it becomes more complex than I expected and it doesn't even work as well as I expected, but hey, one option is still in 3D, or a false 3D, or something like that, I wanted to ask you if you would like to participate in the project, I know that the work What you have done with the videos of each floor is great, I ask to ask if there are chances to share them? (simply to see if it can be converted in some way to something that is useful for the game,) and if not generate photos at each step of the entire ship, round trip xD, then I reprocess it by AI to give it textures, etc. . he he. I know the answer could be a big no, and that many people sell those things, I don't want to abuse or detract from the great work, I also wanted to ask you what you use to make the CAD or 3D of that? or what you can recommend to me, they are just ideas, I will do things within my possibilities, and I know that if I want to make a good mapping of all the ships, I will already be fried, and I will need a lot of help, the idea at least is to put together something that can be customized for the user and shared with fans of the saga, it is something very ambitious, but hey, it is enjoyable to do it too, well if it helps you to share them exclusively for that, generate the photograph, or the mapping, leave me a message, in the video from my channel, I will try to see how I can create the maps, inspired by your 3D designs, opinions are heard, greetings!

At the moment, I'm using 3DS max and in many cases, get 3D models for various site such as 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/ since the models are free. Much of my modeling skills are rather basic and I recommend using pre-existing 3d models to save you time. Modeling and texturing is such a time consuming process especially if you are one man team and don't have the resources to hire other people. I don't recommend using CAD since the files size can be outrages and isn't recommended for real time graphic.

@@Halfscreen Thanks a lot! You are a 3D master, with that I am saved, I see that there are even the models of the curved internal corridors, crazy, thank you very much, I am going to find out how I can see those models well, and then export them, I can do some trick, but I will analyze all the options, to see if it is better to create the fragments, map them as tiles, or directly assemble the entire ship in 3d, I am quite obsessive so it is a possibility, just yesterday, I also started exploring godot, to see if I It was useful to do it there, since it has useful mapping tools, so that information about the models will be very useful to me, I have to explore possibilities, I have seen that there are incredible 3D simulator projects, which work down to the buttons on each part, but they seemed completely empty to me with respect to the soul of the saga, history, etc. I'll see how it goes there. Greetings and thank you very much!
